If you are lucky like we are living in Washington you can stroll down the mall from Lincoln Memorial as I have on a number of occasions listening to Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous “I have a dream speech on my I-POD. It sends chills down your spine to think about the man and what he meant to this country.
The NBA has done a wonderful job commemorating his birthday and today there will be plenty of action all around “the association.” An afternoon affair gets things going on CSN at the Verizon Center with Portland facing the Wiz. The game can also be seen on NBATV for those outside the Beltway.
TNT has a triple header starting at 5:30p.m. with the Suns traveling to Memphis in game one of the networks ML K day offerings.
The game has Dallas traveling to Boston to face the Celtics. That high scoring matchup gets underway at 8p.m.
Then in the best for last category we have the Orlando Magic traveling to Southern California to face the Lakers in the nightcap at The Staples Center.
While watching the NBA take time out to remember the man that the league and the country is honoring today.
Here is the famous speech – please take time to listen.
