Nikki Haley slams Democrats who ‘believe’ socialism is the new normal during rally for Loeffler

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley railed against Democrats who “believe” socialism is the new normal during a campaign stop for Sen. Kelly Loeffler in Georgia.

“Not enough people are talking about what happens whether the Republicans win the Senate or the Democrats win the Senate. If the Republicans win the Senate, Lindsey Graham will be our budget chair. If the Democrats win the Senate, you’re not ready, Bernie Sanders will be your Senate chair. That’s why this matters, ladies and gentleman, the Democratic Party is not your grandparent’s Democratic Party,” she said.

“This is the Democratic Party that believes you cancel anyone that doesn’t agree with you. They believe that you defund the police and stop taking care of those that serve us. They believe that socialism is the new way of life. And they think that you should put your lives and your healthcare in the hands of government,” she said.

“So what else is at stake is the liberals feel like if they can’t win by playing by the rules, they just want to change the rules, right? You know one of the first things they want to do? They want to make D.C. and Puerto Rico a state so that they can get more liberals in the Senate. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are our first line of defense to make sure that doesn’t happen,” Haley added.

Haley is also being floated as a possible 2024 presidential contender, with oddsmakers viewing her and Vice President Mike Pence as the most likely Republicans to win the White House then, besides President Trump.

Loeffler and Perdue are currently vying for reelection in hotly contested runoff elections against Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. Republicans currently hold a 50-48 edge in the Senate, meaning the races will determine which political party holds Senate power for the next two years.

Sen. Ted Cruz was also in Georgia this weekend to campaign for the Republicans and warned that anyone involved in voter fraud should be prosecuted and jailed.

“It is time to end voter fraud. It is time to expose voter fraud,” the Texas Republican said on Saturday. “It is time to take anyone who was involved in voter fraud and prosecute them and put them in jail.”

Trump has continued claiming that voter fraud occurred during the presidential election and spurred the results in President-elect Joe Biden’s favor. Just on Sunday, the president said the election was the “GREATEST ELECTION FRAUD IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY.”

Biden, however, has slammed claims of voter fraud, saying last week, “The court sent a clear signal to President Trump that they would be no part of an unprecedented assault on our democracy.”
