In a letter to Congress today, Bruce Josten, the Chamber of Commerce’s executive vice president for government affairs — that is, it’s top lobbyist — urged members of Congress to pass Speaker Boehner’s “Plan B” to avoid the so-called fiscal cliff.

In the letter, Josten says the potential consequences to the economy are too severe for us to go over the cliff.  He concludes: “[We] are not comfortable allowing tax increases on anyone in this environment. However, we understand that, at times, politics requires compromise.”
