Former President George W. Bush is set to hold a fundraiser in support of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio next month as he continues to fundraise for Senate Republicans involved in tough re-election fights.
According to the Palm Beach Post, Bush will appear with Rubio on October 14 in Palm Beach. An exact location is unknown as of yet.
Donors can give $2,700 to attend the general reception. Couples may also give $10,800 to attend a photo reception with the 43rd president, while $25,000 nets a seat at the “chairman’s dinner.”
Outside of campaigning for his brother, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, back in February prior to the South Carolina primary, the former president has been making the rounds to fundraise for Senate Republicans as they look to hold onto their majority. Thus far, Bush has attended events with Arizona Sen. John McCain, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman and New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte. He is also set to fundraise for Indiana Rep. Todd Young Monday night.
Bush, however, along with father former President George H.W. Bush and Jeb has declined to endorse Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. None of them attended the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in late July.
“Marco is excited and humbled to be joined by former President George W. Bush on the campaign trail in October,” said Rubio spokesman Olivia Perez-Cubas in a statement to The Examiner. “With so much on the line in this Senate race, including major national security issues, President Bush’s voice will be a valuable contribution to our campaign.”
