Vice President Joe Biden called FBI Director James Comey’s a “straight guy” who will be fair in his investigation of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton despite being a Republican.
“Look, I’ve found him to be a straight guy,” said Biden in an interview with CNN released Saturday. “He’s a tough guy, he’s Republican, but he’s always been a straight. And I’m confident that this will turn out fine.”
Biden was responding to questions on the FBI reopening its investigation into Clinton’s email scandal involving her use of a private server while serving as secretary of state.
Comey reportedly had decided to reopen the investigation after the discovery of emails on a laptop computer used by both Clinton’s chief of staff, Huma Abedin, and her husband former congressman of New York Anthony Weiner during a separate investigation into a sexting scandal.
