“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough spent time on Monday directly addressing President Trump to place the blame of attacks and planned attacks against journalists and minority groups on his rhetoric.
“So, I’m not really confused. I know you’re trying to stir up hate and maybe even violence cause your words, they certainly go on the border an awful lot,” Scarborough said.
“It kind of like when you talked about a Second Amendment solution to stopping Hillary Clinton from appointing federal judges that people didn’t like, Second Amendment solution, the killing of, Hillary Clinton. We are so far beyond dog whistles here, Donald,” he continued. “The blood, the blood that is spilled, is on your hands. From white nationalists, from people that listen to that sort of rhetoric, any violence to journalists, enemy of people. The kill list.”
Scarborough then pointed to the case of Lt. Christopher Hasson, the Coast Guard officer accused of plotting terrorist attacks, who was released from jail prior to his trial: “Your Justice Department let somebody that has a manifesto inspired by white nationalists, killers … your attorney general and you let that person walk.”

Scarborough is not the only person in the media who has blamed Trump and his words for the recent shooting at a synagogue in Poway, Calif., that left one dead and three wounded.

Scarborough, and many other journalists and Democratic lawmakers, were on Hasson’s kill list. Co-host Mika Brzezinski also blamed Trump for Hasson’s early release last week.
“I say this as the wife of someone who is on that list so you may hear a little intensity in my voice but I think Trump’s doing this,” Brzezinski said. “How can I not do that math in my mind that the attorney general is making a clear decision here to make sure the lives of people who are being targeted continue to be in danger because they will not put together the pieces of this case. A stockpile of weapons, a list of people that he wants to kill. Are you serious? There’s no way not to let this guy walk? You’ve got to be kidding me.”
