Eighty-one percent of Americans are dissatisfied with the way the nation is being governed, according to the Gallup Poll, 57% have no confidence in the federal government to solve domestic problems, and 49% believe the federal government has become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens.
But Gallup says these negative views of the federal government are not being extended to local and state governments. Sixty-eight percent 68% of Americans have trust and confidence in their local government, and 57% feel the same way about their state government.
