Federal agents raid the site of reality show ‘American Guns’ for the second time

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives raided the gun shop featured in the Discovery Channel’s reality show “American Guns”—their second raid on the shop in two years.

The Colorado store, Gunsmoke, and owner Rich Wyatt starred in the show, which was canceled in in 2012 after two seasons.

On Tuesday, agents burst in and began sifting through the merchandise while a chopper flew overhead. They seized hundreds of firearms and loaded them into a U-Haul. An ATF spokesman told TheBlaze that the operation stretched from 9:45am to midnight.

Agents told the local CBS station that they had a warrant related to a 2013 IRS investigation, which began after the shop was burglarized in February 2013. Agents raided the shop in March of that year, and court documents claim Wyatt had been evading taxes and possessed illegal firearms.
