Former Washington Wizards player Javaris Crittenton has bonded out of jail on a murder charge in Atlanta.
Crittenton was released from the Fulton County jail shortly after 12 a.m. Wednesday after posting a $230,000 bond. Players, friends and coaches, including former Georgia Tech coach Paul Hewitt, testified on his behalf.
Crittenton is accused of shooting 22-year-old Julian Jones to death as she walked along on Atlanta street. Police said the Jones was not the intended target of Crittenton’s gunfire.
Defense attorney Brian Steel said Crittenton is not guilty and the charges are based on faulty eyewitness testimony.
