SYDNEY (AP) — Michael Scott has been selected the director of high performance for Swimming Australia as it rebuilds after a poor performance at last year’s Olympics.

The Australian-born Scott is the former performance director of British Swimming. He resigned that role in November after a critical review of Britain’s performance at the London Games at which it fell two medals short of its target of five podium placings. He has continued to live in Australia while holding the British job since 2007.

Swimming Australia president Barclay Nettlefold also announced the appointment Tuesday of Mark Anderson as the organization’s new chief executive. Anderson was formerly chief commercial officer of the Essendon Australian Rules football club.
