Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said at the end of the GOP Debate on Thursday that he would support Donald Trump if he was the Republican nominee, but his website sold #NeverTrump merchandise.
“I’ll support the Republican nominee,” Rubio said Thursday night. “(Hillary Clinton) lied to the victims of the families of the victims of Benghazi and anyone who lies to the families of victims who lost their lives in the service to our country can never be the commander-in-chief of the United States. We must defeat Hillary Clinton.”
This is not the first time Rubio has maintained the position that he will support the Republican frontrunner if he becomes the party’s nominee.
In an interview with John Dickerson on February 28 Rubio said that he has no problem stating he would support a Trump candidacy, because he never thinks it will happen.
Despite Rubio’s claim that he would unite behind the GOP candidate regardless of the nominee, his website’s store advocates to never support Trump.
