State land purchase expands popular hunt area

CHICAGO (AP) — A state-funded land purchase has expanded a popular hunting area in northwestern Illinois.

Sauk Valley Media reports (http://bit.ly/1iVZcbX) 275 acres are being added to the Big Bend State Fish & Wildlife Area. It’s in Whiteside County near Prophetstown along the Rock River.
