WHAT: Engel told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that the best solution to high energy prices is for fewer Americans to drive minivans or engage in other of “our old gas-guzzling ways.”
WHY IT’S DIM: A mere reduction in American demand for gas is unlikely to have much effect in the face of rising demand in China, India and elsewhere. Regardless of how many minivans we drive, the United States will still need greater supplies.
