The Annapolis Fire Department plans to collect donations to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association Aug. 10-13 by “filling their boots” at major intersections in Annapolis.
The department, which raised more than $18,000 last year, has a goal of $25,000 for this year.
In addition, Annapolis Mayor Ellen Moyer announced August as “Fire Fighter Appreciation Month” to honor firefighters for their contributions to the association.
The city?s proclamation will be presented at the fire department Aug. 2.
For more than 50 years, the International Association of Firefighters has been the largest sponsor of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which helps children and adults affected by neuromuscular diseases at no charge.
