The boss appeared on CNN Thursday to discuss the Republican party with Donald Trump at its forefront, and to press the case of how a conservative alternative to Trump and Hillary Clinton in the general election could pull off a victory.
“Great parties make mistakes, and they need to be saved from their mistakes in exceptional circumstances. I hope we can save the Republican party from this mistake, because I think after six months of Trump — a convention, debates — if he becomes the face of the Republican party, the only face of the Republican party, even if he loses, which I expect him to do, I think this is a real crisis for the Republican party.
