‘How effin’ clueless does Joe have to be?’: Greg Gutfeld mocks Biden for bringing up Chris Dodd amid sexual assault allegations

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld sounded off on Joe Biden for recruiting former Democratic Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd to the campaign’s vice presidential search team.

“What they’re saying is: ‘We believe the woman. We don’t care,'” Gutfeld began, commenting on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dismissing Tara Reade’s allegations of sexual assault against the former vice president.

“I want to commend Joe in rewarding his old, dear, drunken pal, Chris Dodd, with the plum job of helping to seek the VP. The female VP!” Gutfeld continued, later alluding to Dodd’s alleged past history of sexually assaulting women. “I want everybody in America watching this show to go to Google, and insert the words ‘Chris Dodd’ and ‘waitress,’ which will detail, with witnesses in respectable places, assorted assault … of a young waitress in a restaurant.”

“How effin’ clueless does Joe have to be?” the Fox host continued. “I guess Harvey Weinstein was busy making license plates?”

Carla Gaviglio, 59, Dodd’s accuser, said Dodd sexually assaulted her in 1985 when she was 24, with former Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Ted Kennedy. According to Gaviglio, Kennedy grabbed Gaviglio while in a drunken rage and threw her onto a table, sending plates, candles, and cutlery flying. Kennedy then picked up the terrified waitress and placed her on Dodd’s lap, where he then allegedly proceeded to rub his genitals on her. The incident was reported by GQ magazine in 1990.

“Chris was always there,” Gaviglio told the New York Post in an interview. “He was a goofball, always asking for my phone number and things like that, but I don’t think he was expecting what happened that night. They were very, very drunk.”

“Most of it was on Senator Kennedy, but God, would it have killed [Dodd] to say, ‘I’m so sorry about what happened last night, I really apologize’? That would have been nice. It certainly would have been appropriate.”

Gaviglio said she hasn’t seen Dodd since the incident.
