Chamber of Commerce hits Democrats in five battleground states

The Big Business coalition announced today that it would run new ads targeting Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., Sen. Jon Tester, R-Mont., Rep. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio and Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis. All five are running in tight Senate races this year. The ads will focus on their votes to pass the Affordable Care Act, except for the ad against Heinrich, which will hit him for opposing the Keystone XL pipeline project.

In a statement  fromThomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said:

This campaign will inform voters in key Senate battleground states about the records of candidates who support job-killing regulations, tax increases and less domestic energy exploration. With so much at stake in this election, the Chamber will continue to execute the largest voter education campaign in our history. We will support candidates who will fight for free enterprise and oppose those who consistently support more government and stand in the way of economic growth and job creation

The Chamber did not say how large the ad buy would be.
