Sure, there have been no reports of Yankees faithful throwing up on a child, but pinstripe patrons are catching up to their Philly friends.
The New York Post reported Tuesday that Yankees fans taunted, spat and threw items (including beer — and at $8 a cup, why would you do that?) in the direction of Kristen Lee, the wife of Texas Rangers ace Cliff Lee, during the ALCS at Yankee Stadium.
But when you’re the top spender in baseball and your No. 1 offseason target is pitching against you in the postseason, don’t try to annoy the dude’s wife.
Now to his credit, Cliff tried to deflect some of the negativity when asked about it, not wanting to have a half-dozen fans represent the Yankees franchise.
He’s got to keep the Yankees in the bidding to run up the free agent cash.
Just don’t expect Kristen Lee to tell her husband she wants him to go to New York like Mark Teixeira‘s wife did in 2008.
