RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Visitors to the North Carolina Museum of History have a chance to see one of the most significant documents in United States history.
The Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation is on display at the museum in Raleigh through June 16. President Lincoln orders in the proclamation that in 100 days, the federal government will free all slaves in states rebelling against the Union.
