Actor Jon Voight took to Twitter Friday night to call Donald J. Trump the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln in a two-part address to the Republican party.
“Let us stand up for this truth: that President Trump is the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln,” Voight said.
He said Trump was following a moral code and duty that has been passed on by Lincoln. Trump has mentioned Lincoln, widely regarded as one of the country’s greatest presidents, in his rallies.

The Oscar winner implored the GOP not to be fooled by the political left, because the nation is witnessing “triumph” under Trump.

“This job is not easy, for he is battling the left, and their absurd words of destruction,” Voight said.
“I am here today to tell my fellow Americans that our country is stronger, safer, and with more jobs, because our president has made his every move correct,” the actor added.
Voight, an outspoken conservative, has spoken glowingly of Trump in the past, praising his outspoken honesty during the 2016 campaign. Trump appointed the star of “Midnight Cowboy” and “Ali” in March to the board of trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
