Md. government preys on its citizens Re: ‘Sex predators jailed in Va., let loose in Md.’ Nov. 18

It should come as no surprise that Maryland releases its sex predators into society, inasmuch as the Maryland government violates its citizens on a daily basis.

Blame the American people for ‘Superfail’

I respectfully disagree with President Obama’s assertion he made after the “supercommittee’s” failure to strike a deficit deal. The POTUS stated: “There are still far too many Republicans in Congress who have refused to listen to the voice of reason and compromise.” Granted, during this congressional session Republicans have voted, en masse, to prevent the president from perpetuating his agenda, in an attempt to achieve their early and often stated goal of making President Obama a one-term president.

That said, I blame neither the Republicans nor the Democrats for the aforementioned. After all, the majority of them are career politicians. I blame the American people, who have been sold a bill of goods by both parties, the blame game, character assassinations, demagoguery and outright lies. Very succinctly, the American people have allowed themselves to once again be hoodwinked and bamboozled by career politicians who populate the halls of Congress.

The POTUS, during his campaign, ran on a platform of “hope and change.” The result of that dictum is long overdue. The American people need to coalesce around the idea of significant and drastic change. When such diverse groups and individuals, who run the entire spectrum of the political ideology, agree it should be worth noting. The Occupy movement, the Tea Party, Gov. Rick Perry, Rep. Steve Cohen, R-Tenn., Jack Abramoff, et al have recently stated that term limits and ending the power of lobbyists would go a long way in eradicating the corruption, which aids the dysfunctional government we presently tolerate.

I would suggest that the American people go one step further by sending a most profound message to all the professional politicians who have once again failed to deliver: In November 2012, elect anyone who is not presently serving.

The Catholic Church hid defective leadership

Re: ‘When will the ever learn?’ Nov. 23

The second sentence in the first paragraph doesn’t make sense. The priest wasn’t kept on because the news might damage its reputation. The priest was kept on because the leaders of the church didn’t want to admit that there were mentally ill and defective priests leading their flock. Probably some of those leaders had the same illness and defect.

Michael Moore’s brainwashing is dangerous

I saw Michael Moore on TV lead hundreds of Occupy protesters in a chorus of hate-the-capitalist venom. Whatever he shouted, they chanted verbatim. He reminded me of the pig brainwashing the sheep in George Orwell’s “Animal Farm.” He should stop the hate language before people are killed. And aren’t there laws against hate crimes? if Macy’s is firebombed, Moore should be held accountable in both civil and criminal courts.
