School bus crashes in Columbia

A car crashed into a school bus carrying 40 children in Columbia on Thursday, but no injuries were reported, Howard County police said.

The crash happened at 4 p.m. at the intersection of Guilford and South Trotter roads in the River Hill area when a 25-year-old woman driving a 1993 Audi rear-ended the bus, police said. She has not been charged.

The children were from Pointers Run Elementary School. The bus, owned by Atkins Enterprise, had only a damaged tailpipe.

Police continue to investigate.
