Motorcycle club seeks return of patches held

WOODSTOCK, Ill. (AP) — The Outlaws Motorcycle Club has failed in an effort to obtain club patches and insignia seized when six members were arrested after a northern Illinois bar brawl.

The Northwest Herald in Crystal Lake reports (http://bit.ly/ZZAXSa) American Outlaws Association attorney Joel Rabb says the two members who forfeited club-related property in a plea agreement to avoid jail time after a 2013 Wonder Lake bar fight didn’t have the right to do so.

In a McHenry County Circuit Court filing, Rabb said the club retains ownership of the patches despite their issuance to members.

Judge Sharon Prather sided with Assistant State’s Attorney Robert Zalud who said the motorcycle club was attempting to seek a civil remedy in criminal court.

Rabb didn’t say if he’d take up the issue in civil court.
