Va. State Police: More than 4,700 service calls during snow storm

Virginia State Police responded to more than 4,700 calls for service — including 1,947 traffic crashes — during Thursday’s snowstorm.

Police said troopers responded to a total of 4,798 calls throughout the state between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m.

In the Fairfax division, state police troopers fielded 555 calls, including 109 crashes and 135 stuck vehicles.

Police said most of the creashes were minor and only a few motorists were injured.
