It’s that time again for every Virginian’s favorite topic: transportation. Governor Bob McDonnell will address the Governor’s Transportation Conference, currently taking place in Roanoke, today at 3:45 p.m.
On tap in the speech are the governor’s upcoming budget announcements and his proposals to improve transportation. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have already pitched a variety of proposals, including tax increases, to pay for the projects, but the General Assembly is expected to be wary of the ever-dreaded “t” word, especially given the still-struggling economy and their own reelection campaigns.
