President-elect Trump confirmed he will live in the White House with his wife, Melania, and young son, Barron.
“I’m going to live in the White House with my family,” Trump said on Fox News Sunday.
The president-elect said Barron will finish his school year before moving from New York City to Washington, D.C.
“It’s a little hard to take him out of school,” he said. “Melania will be back and forth for that first couple of months. We’ll be staying in the White House.”
Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner, have reportedly been house hunting in Washington, D.C., as speculation builds as to what role Kushner will play in the administration.
Anti-nepotism laws could make it difficult for Kushner to have a formal role in the White House, however.
“We’re working on that right now,” Trump responded when Wallace asked if Ivanka and Kushner would also make the move. “I think we’ll have to see how the laws read.”
Trump said the couple would like to have some role in his administration.
“She’d like to do that. I’d love to have Jared helping us on deals with other nations and see if we can do peace in the Middle East and other things. He’s very talented. He’s a very talented guy. We’re looking at that from a legal standpoint right now.”
