The Trump Organization announced plans for a new hotel chain on Monday, American Idea, inspired by Trump’s campaign slogan and his time on the campaign trail, according to a report.
The new three-star hotel chain will initially break ground in small towns throughout Mississippi, according to The New York Times. The hotel company’s business partner met President Trump while he was on the campaign trail.
The idea for the chain was unveiled Monday at an event at Trump Tower, hosted by the president’s two adult sons, Eric and Don Jr., according to the Associated Press.
The first hotels are set to be planted in a state where Trump won against his Democratic opponent by nearly 18 points. Eric Danziger, chief executive of the Trump Organization’s hotels division, reportedly rejected the notion that the electoral map would be used as a tool for profit as the new hotel chain decided where they will build next.
