British Prime Minister Theresa May will visit a retreat of Republican congressional leaders next week before meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office on Friday.
May will be the first foreign leader to address the GOP group, which will convene for its 30th annual meeting in Philadelphia next week.
The British prime minister will discuss priorities for the coming year and “set out how we want to advance the special relationship in the coming years and work together on a number of shared challenges,” May’s office said in a statement.
May will visit congressional leaders on Thursday. She is scheduled to meet Trump on Friday in what will be the new president’s first face-to-face visit from a foreign head of government.
