When conservative firebrand Ann Coulter took to the podium Wednesday night, she began with a special thanks to her audience of mostly young students: “Thank you all in advance for paying my debt to the government.” Speaking at George Washington University, Coulter’s speech, titled “Why Liberals are Wrong about Everything,” touched on the national debt (hence her thank-you), American foreign policy and the 2012 presidential election.
During the audience Q&A, a male student asked the best-selling author about her opposition to gay marriage. “I don’t have any rights that you don’t have,” she said. “You can get married — it just can’t be with another guy.” She continued to add, “Life’s not fair. I’m not married yet. Life’s not fair. I’m 125 years old. Life’s not fair. Now put that in your pipe and smoke it.”
Political media were sent buzzing in 2008 when then-Sen. Obama was spotted bare-chested in Hawaii. Coulter was asked, if it were between Obama and Donald Trump, who she’d rather see shirtless.
She quickly responded, “Which one would cut my taxes?”
She also said that she’s more likely to vote for Charlie Sheen and Kim Kardashian over President Obama in the next election.
Readers familiar with Coulter’s work will notice something different about her newest book, “Demonic.” Her face isn’t on the cover.
“At the last minute I sent the cover to Matt Drudge with my smiling face,” she said, “and he said ‘No, no, no; just the title, just your name.’ [My publisher] accepted it and we all loved it.”
The book is set to be published this June.
