Bachmann’s Africa debate gaffe

Chalk up another unfortunate gaffe for Michele Bachmann. When discussing foreign policy during the debate, Bachmann stated, “Now with the president, he put us in Libya. He is now putting us in Africa. We already were stretched too thin, and he put our special operations forces in Africa.”

Bachmann was referring to President Obama’s decision to send special forces in Uganda to support resistance against the Lord’s Resistance Army.

Of course both Libya and Uganda are countries in Africa, a fact sparking widespread mockery of Bachmann on Twitter, making “Libya is in Africa” a trending topic.
