A District school employee was charged with sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman who knocked on the door of his Anne Arundel County home selling newspapers, Anne Arundel police said.
The woman called police Tuesday evening from the 1000 block of Chilmark Court in Crofton and told them she had been sexually assaulted by a man living in a nearby home.
According to police, the woman said 29-year-old Brannon Joel Powell invited her into his house after she knocked on his door trying to sell him a newspaper subscription. He assaulted her inside, police said.
Powell is a staff professional development instructor and has little contact with students, police said.
