Conservative journalists Pamela Geller, Milo Yiannopoulos, and Ann Coulter, along with Dutch Party for Reform leader Geert Wilders, will headline an LGBT pro-Donald Trump event called “Wake Up” on June 19th in Cleveland, according to The Gateway Pundit.
The idea for the “Wake Up” party after the Orlando massacre that took place at a gay nightclub. Following the massacre, The Gateway Pundit founder Jim Hoft, LGBTrump head Chris Barron, and organizer Jeff Giesea had discussions that led to the creation of the event to get out the LGBT Trump vote. In fact, the Orlando massacre prompted Jim Hoft to come out of the closet.
“A lot more gay people support Donald Trump than you might think,” Hoft said.
Chris Barron, former co-founder of GOProud and current head of LGBTrump, said that the current threat of radical Islam should be the biggest concern for the LGBT community and emphasizes that that’s why LGBT members need to support Trump.
“We have a message for America and the LGBT community. Radical Islam is the number one gay rights issue in the world, and Donald Trump is the only candidate taking this threat seriously,” Barron said. “LGBT Americans need to wake up — this election isn’t about bathrooms or who will bake our wedding cakes. This election is about life or death. It’s about confronting an ideology that seeks to exterminate LGBT people across the globe.”
Milo Yiannopoulos, the gay conservative journalist, said that he is glad to support a candidate like Trump who hasn’t taken donations from Islamic regimes that have oppressive LGBT laws.
“Some LGBTQQUIA ‘folk’ are quivering with outrage and fear over the possibility of a Trump presidency. Idiots! Personally I think we need to add an S to that ever-expanding abbreviation — S for STUPID. Donald Trump is the most pro-gay candidate in American electoral history. He’s also, unlike Hillary Clinton, not funded by countries that execute homos. Democrats make all the right noises but do nothing for gays — or any other minority really, besides the tiny number of far-Left loons who still describe identify as ‘feminist’ (or ‘Black Lives Matter’). It is time for the fag community to wake up and join the smart, handsome and courageous trailblazers (I’m talking about myself) that I am calling L-G-B-Trump,” Yiannopoulos said.
Pamela Geller, a conservative journalist, showed similar enthusiasm to speak at the pro-Trump LGBT event.
“The Republican Party is the party of individual rights and the equality of all before the law. I am honored to appear with a group affirming this – especially as the forces of hate and violence are gathered to try yet again to destroy our freedoms. We need a big tent to defeat the Leftist/Islamic machine,” Geller said.
Some members of the LGBT community are starting to migrate toward Trump. A Reuters poll from early July showed 20 percent support for Trump among registered LGBT voters, an increase from 14 percent in June.
Chris Barron explained that Donald Trump has proven to have helped gay people in the past, whereas Hillary Clinton has manipulated them.
“Hillary Clinton is happy to have gay people serve as an ATM for her campaign, while taking tens of millions from Islamic regimes that brutalize and murder gay people. She is happy to use gay people as political props by marching for a couple of blocks in a pride parade, but refuses to stand up for us in the face of Islamic terror,” Barron said. “The bottom line is that Donald Trump is a far better choice for LGBT Americans – and indeed all Americans – than Hillary Clinton.”
There will be additional speakers at the “Wake Up” party besides the four headliners, including Tea Party leader Amy Kremer, political consultant and long-time Trump loyalist Roger Stone, and possibly others.
