Journalist and former TV host Katie Couric rejoiced in Michael Bloomberg’s attacks against President Trump on Friday.
The two New York billionaires have sparred in recent weeks as Bloomberg’s poll numbers have risen.
Couric discussed their spat during a Friday night appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher. She was on the show with Van Jones, Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington, and Bret Stephens.
“Oh my God, it was so amazing, wasn’t it?!” she said of Bloomberg’s counterattacks. She specifically said that the former New York City mayor labeling the president “a carnival barking clown” was “the best part.”

“Trump is like a heat-seeking missile,” she explained. “He can detect your vulnerabilities, and Bloomberg, I think, in that one tweet, Donald Trump hates that his back was turned, that all the New York machers turned their back on him, and he was never quite accepted into society. And then, the art of the deal, the idea that he’s a bad deal-maker.”
The fighting between the two billionaires seeking the 2020 presidency increased this week. In addition to claiming the presidential contender wants a box to stand on during debates, Trump sent and then deleted a tweet earlier this week about leaked audio from 2015 in which Bloomberg praised stop-and-frisk policy.
