Yankees crowd boos Trump adviser Rudy Giuliani on his birthday

President Trump’s outside attorney Rudy Giuliani was booed by a Yankee Stadium crowd on Monday after he arrived to watch the game for his 74th birthday.

The chorus of boos ensued when an announcer at the game revealed the former New York City mayor was in the stands for the Memorial Day game against the Houston Astros.

According to one reporter who appeared to be at the game, “thunderous boos rained across the stadium” when the announcer wished Giuliani a happy birthday.

Giuliani officially joined the president’s outside legal team in April, after informally advising Trump on matters related to the Russia investigation for several months. He has since drawn scrutiny for his contradictory statements about the president’s involvement in a payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in return for keeping claims about an affair with Trump to herself.

He was later forced to walk back statements about the $130,000 payment after Trump told reporters Giuliani didn’t “have his facts straight.”

The one-time federal prosecutor’s appearance at Yankee Stadium on Monday comes just one day after he described the basis for the special counsel investigation into Russian election meddling as “illegitimate” during an interview on CNN.
