The identity of the person whose body was pulled from the Potomac River Saturday morning remains unknown but police do not think the case is related to a similar case from July.
A boater had found the body near Edwards Ferry in Poolesville about 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Police now believe it belongs to an adult male but are awaiting a medical examiner’s autopsy to determine a cause of death and identify the person from dental records, Montgomery Police Capt. Paul Starks said Sunday.
He said this latest death doesn’t appear related to a July 28 case in which a man’s body was found near White’s Ferry, slightly upriver. Neither body had any obvious signs of trauma.
