Jeb Bush called rival Republican candidate Donald Trump a “loser” Monday, and also dismissed the front-runner as nothing more than a “real estate guy.”
Asked to associate various candidates with adjectives during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Bush also called Sen. Marco Rubio a “work in progress” and expressed confidence that Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton “can be beat.” He said Gov. Chris Christie is a “great guy.”
“I’m relaxed campaigning here, because people will actually let you complete a sentence in the English language,” Bush said of his push to grow support in New Hampshire ahead of Tuesday’s primary.
The former Florida governor praised Rubio as a “bright, charismatic leader,” but doubted the freshman senator had the experience needed to be president.
“He’s a gifted person, but he doesn’t have a proven record,” Bush said of Rubio, who has led Bush consistently in New Hampshire polls.
Bush has joined other Republican candidates in railing against Rubio’s lack of executive experience in the days since the Florida senator turned out a better-than-expected performance in the Iowa caucus last week.
