Will conservatives back Trump in general election? [VIDEO]

The 2016 election is shaping up to make history. With Donald Trump getting closer to becoming the presumptive Republican nominee, many Republican voters feel like they’re faced with a tough decision.

MRC TV’s Dan Joseph went to go ask some of these voters at CPAC. MRC notes that:

What we found was that a significant number of conservatives, who in years past would never have dreamed of casting their vote for anyone other than the GOP nominee, were prepared to split with the party if Trump becomes the nominee. Even many of the  conservatives who said that they WOULD cast their vote for Trump in November were not happy about the prospect.

Joseph notes that “obviously the candidacy of Donald Trump has really divided the Republican Party and the conservative movement.”

On the historical phenomena of it all, one voter spoke of how “if you had asked me a year ago, would you potentially not vote for the Republican nominee, I’d say you’re absolutely crazy.”

Many were unsure, or at least hesitant to say if they would. One young voter shared she “would not blame anyone who does. I know that’s a choice we all have to make.” Another voter even predicted that “the people who are telling you they won’t are probably going to change their mind.” He further spoke of how “elections are forced choices, and we know the other choice is going to be an extraordinarily bad one.”

Trump may be for many a poor example of a candidate for the Republican Party, or any party. It cannot be emphasized enough though that unless a more conservative candidate runs as an independent, or there is enough of a mass following behind a write-in candidate, the other option is likely going to be Hillary Clinton. Hillary is not a conservative or even moderate Democrat. She can only be described as being Hillary, one of the most anti-Republican candidates around.

Will Hillary really be any better to Republicans or the country? It’s something to think long and hard about.
