Republican presidential candidate and Michigan-native Mitt Romney has a new theme song — Kid Rock’s “Born Free” — the title-track from his 2010 album, which Romney will be blasting as he continues his run for the White House going into 2012. It’s a fitting tribute, since Kid Rock —whose real name is Bob Ritchie — is a also a Michigan native, and he’s been a supporter of the Republican party. This isn’t an endorsement though, according to the Kid, who wrote on his website that his songs could be used by any candidate, regardless of their politics. “He and anyone else who wants to use my song do not need my permission. I said he could use it and I would say the same for any other candidate,” he wrote on Wednesday. “I have to have a little faith that every candidate feels like he or she can help this country. Without faith, we got nothing. I make music to have it be heard.” (He went on to add that anyone who uses “So Hott” as their theme song would probably get his vote.)
