Manned aircraft crashes near Holloman Air Force Base

An A-29 Super Tucano aircraft crashed near Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico on Friday, according to the base.

The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. local time at the Red Rio Bombing Range, an active Air Force facility less than 100 miles north of Holloman, according to a press release.

“One aircrew member suffered minor injuries and was airlifted to the hospital,” the release reads. The health status of the second aircrew member is still unavailable to the public.

According to the base, the crash is still being investigated.
