A traveling photo exhibit showcasing key figures in black history opens Thursday at the Baltimore Convention Center.
The “Heroes Among Us” exhibit depicts nearly two centuries in America, with more than 160 images and stories of prominent black leaders. Among those featured are sports giants Jackie Robinson, Joe Lewis and Muhammad Ali, educator Mary McLeod Bethune, entertainer Etta Moten Barnett, gospel singer Mahalia Jackson and the Tuskegee Airmen military heroes.
The exhibit will be on display Thursday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the center?s Charles Street lobby.
