Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is reportedly being protected by the United States Marshals Service, an unusual move since Cabinet-level secretaries usually receive protection from their respective agencies.
DeVos has been receiving the protection since Monday, CNN reported.
The secretary faced a contentious confirmation process and encountered protesters shortly after being confirmed. One protester blocked the door to Jefferson Middle School Academy in southwest Washington, D.C., earlier this month when DeVos tried to visit.
The Marshals Service is a federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Justice.
