Democrats are having a soul-searching moment, and many believe the Party should move further leftwards. However, new polling suggests that won’t be winning them the White House in 2020.
A new Politico/Morning Consult poll released on Wednesday showed that President Trump would easily defeat Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) in a 2020 matchup.
According to the poll, Trump would win by a margin of 42 to 36 percent.
Despite being the most progressive generation, millennials would still prefer the President to the Massachusetts Senator by a slim 39 to 37 percent margin. That shows Trump would grow from his 2016 results from 2016 when he received 37 percent against Hillary Clinton.
Trump would also beat Warren among every age group, all income groups, Independents, and voters with bachelor’s degrees.
Democrats are going to need better solutions than Elizabeth Warren to lead them back into the majority in 2020.
