The question that didn’t air: Megyn Kelly asks Putin about the personal ‘toll’ of leading Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he feels directly connected to the country of Russia in unedited footage of his recent interview with Megyn Kelly, which according to a report was removed from the interview that aired on NBC recently.

“You’ve been in the leadership of this country for 17 years now. Has it taken any sort of personal toll on you?” Kelly asked the Russian president in unedited footage of the interview obtained by the Huffington Post and published Saturday.

“I hope not. Do you know what I feel?” Putin asked Kelly. “I feel this live, direct connection to this land, to its history, to this country.”

Putin continues on a long explanation that appears to trail off from the original question, which the report notes Kelly declines to reign in.
