Fairfax starts support group for children exposed to domestic violence

Fairfax County is starting a new support group for children who have been exposed to domestic violence.

The eight-week program begins Feb. 15 and is geared toward children in elementary school. The county says the group will use art, play and other methods to teach children about healthy relationships, negative emotions and how to solve problems without using violence. The program is free.

The group will meet Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Seven Corners area. The county also offers a domestic violence support group for women that meets at the same time and place. For more information or to sign up for either program, call (703) 704-6729 or (703) 324-2395.
