If there weren’t enough ambiguously named Democratic activist groups and super PACs for your liking, then hey, it’s your lucky day.
As presaged by this report in BuzzFeed earlier this month, Hillary Clinton announced today on Twitter that she is setting up (or at least attaching her name to) a group called “Onward Together.” It won’t quite play the same role Dean’s own campaign spinoff group Democracy for America (which still exists, by the way, Happy 13th anniversary!) or Obama’s Organizing for America, but no one quite understands what those groups do anyway.
We’re launching Onward Together to encourage people to get involved, organize, and even run for office. https://t.co/8exooosvZ5

Think of this new creature as a sort of Clinton Foundation for left-wing activist groups. They raise the money and give your group a grant, and perhaps they employ a bunch of those people Clinton would have otherwise appointed to minor roles in her administration.
According to BuzzFeed, Clinton had previously considered starting an actual PAC by the name of “Our American Future,” which as names go is somewhat snappier than the Campaign for America’s Future, Securing America’s Future, Defending America’s Future, and Protect America’s Future, but doesn’t quite roll off the tongue like Fund for America’s Future, Preserve America’s Future, the Freedom Fund for America’s Future, or the American Future Fund.
Also, Democrats are probably thrilled that the Clinton clan wants to stay in the middle of the political scene. Well, no, not really.
