The 4th Annual Tour du Parks, a bike ride linking Charm City?s major green play areas, is scheduled for Sunday. The popular event ? also known as “Tour dem Parks, hon” ? is anything but a race. It?s more of a picnic on wheels.

Friends and families pedal together and discover tucked-away treasures in the city while raising money for groups dedicated to improving city parks. The tour features three routes beginning and ending in Carroll Park. They include: a 12-mile tour along the Gwynns Fall Trail, and 20- and 30-mile rides through the city?s largest parks, waterfront areas and historic neighborhoods.

Registration is available online at www.tourdemparks.org or at the stables at Carroll Park, 1600 Washington Blvd. in Southwest Baltimore on the morning of the event. It all starts with sign-ups at 7:30 a.m., then the ride at 8, followed by a barbecue and music kicking off at 11 a.m. The first 300 participants get a free T-shirt and water bottle.
