WHEATON, Ill. (AP) — A suburban Chicago man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for his foiled attempt to hire a hit man to kill three of his relatives.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin says 24-year-old Matthew Olszewski (ohl-SHEFS’-kee) of Glendale Heights also was sentenced to two years in prison for stealing jewelry from those relatives. That sentence is to run after his term for the solicitation-of-murder convictions.
