The Obama campaign is bringing back a tried and failed Obama talking point from the 2010 midterm elections.
Today the Obama campaign posted a 2010 video of the president’s “Slurpee attack” on his Twitter account, as Republicans are holding their convention in Tampa.

The video is from September 2010, when Obama was campaigning in Wisconsin:
Obama used the Slurpee analogy frequently on the campaign trail to paint Republicans as irresponsible stewards of the economy. The attack however, failed, as the GOP swept back into power.
The “Slurpee attack” was widely mocked by Republicans and journalists who could see the writing on the wall.
After the election, reporters jokingly asked if President Obama was ready to have a “Slurpee Summit” with the new Republican Speaker of the House, Rep. John Boehner.
“I might serve … they’re delicious drinks,” Obama replied.
