FRANKENMUTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State University is holding its annual open house at the Saginaw Valley Research and Extension Center.
The university says the event is Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the center, which is north of Frankenmuth in Saginaw County’s Frankenmuth Township.
The school says the open house gives the public a chance to hear from its leading scientists “about cutting-edge research in sugar beets, dry, edible beans and other Saginaw Valley crops.”
Michigan State says that 20-minute tours of research plots will begin at 9 a.m. It says they will cover “the latest findings in variety development, nitrogen research, weed management, disease control and insects.”
The program costs $20 and includes lunch.
