SHERIDAN, Ill. (AP) — Illinois State Police said Monday that they’re processing evidence found during a large-scale ground search in northern Illinois connected to shootings that left a Dwight mother and daughter dead.

More than 100 law enforcement and fire officials from six agencies participated in the four-hour search on Sunday. It took place over about 26 acres in the Sheridan area, about 40 miles north of Dwight. The search also was focused on solving recent Grundy County burglaries.
